Phrasal verbs are an important part of the First Certificate Exam. You need to have a good command of them if you want to do the Use of English Paper well. You may need them for part 1 (multiple choice cloze), part 2 (open cloze) or part 4 (key word transformations). And of course you can use them in the informal email.
