VIOLENCE IN FOOTBALL

Following with the analysis of different texts that describe what happened on the 29th May, we have this one about one of the biggest tragedies that have ever happened in football. Have a look at this video. It's technichally poor, but the images are worth being watched.

It is not the biggest tragedy that overtook in football. Some years later, in Hillsborough,  in 1989, 96 people died. Although the British press blamed on football hooligans, the truth is that the the stadium was already crowded and the authorities opened the doors to let hundreds of people that were waiting outside get in.

After this, stronger measures were taken in order to avoid such things.

  1. In my opinion these disasters are horrible. I feel very impotent. And I think that those sports are to watch and to have a good time and no to hit each other. And the consequences of the disaster were very terryfing because the numbers of the death people was very high, most of them young.in these videos we can see how the hooligans and the people acts in soccer matches. It is a pity.

  3. From my point of view, these disasters were tremendously horrible and terrifying. Concerning the causes, I believe that the hooligans were not the only guilties of the catastrophe, the security members and the police should have taken harder measures too. In addition, regarding the consequences, it is really amazing that in the Hillsborough disaster, 96 people died. I'm really shocked, and I hope these tragedies are not going to happen again.

  4. From my point of view, this acts in football matches shouldn't happen because then the consequences are very importants; for example, people death, stadiums closure, etc. All the sundays people go to see different football matches in different countries and cities, and the only thing they want is to see a great match and they don't want to be in terrible fights. I don't know if the hooligans have the biggest part of the guilt, but the goverments have to prevent this acts. It's very bashful!

  5. In my opinion the police's punishment was too much, beacause the rest of the english clubs didn't do anything, so it's not fair to them. It is suppose that football is a sport to have fun and support your team, but not as much as the hooligans did there.

  7. In my opinion this accidents shouldn´t happen, football matches are to have fun and support your team. But that wasn´t normal. The hooligans have a part of the guilt, but police too because they should have controlled more the situation. And also, after that they continued playing the match and I think that´s horrible and shameful.

  10. I think that the disaster is horrible because of the bad organization of authorities that open the door to hundreds of people to get in. The Liverpool hooligans aslo have part of the guilt because they jump over a fence that separate the two groups. It's shameful.

  12. As all the people, I think that the happening of this type of disaster in football is horrible. But the things have causes and if the security of the stadium and the behaviour of the hooligans had been better the disaster wouldn't have happened. Also if I were part of the English Football Federation I will dicrease the punishment to Liverpool F.C. and I wouldn't punish to other english football clubs without guilt in the happenings.

  14. I think that this accident was terrible and painful. The disorganization of the police and negligence of the hooligans transformed a day of emotion in historical tragedy day. The bad condition of the football stadium it would have to be better knowing that it had to receive so many persons that day , so also I think that the organization have a big part of fault.

  18. I think that this accident was terrible. On the one hand the police didn't do anithing on respect, so the situation became uncontrollable and too many people died without doing anything. And on the other hand, the idea of playing the match is shameful, because a disaster like this don`t occure every day and if you are a human you can´t do that.

  21. I think that these fightings are horribles. However this happened before some years, nowadays we can see things of this type, but with less violent. In my opinion, the football matches are to enjoy and not to fight.

  25. In my opinion, is incredible that a football match could originate all this catastrophe. If people were well organized and their behavior was better, all this wouldn't happen and it would save those people deaths.
