Medieval clothes

Here are some pictures of medieval clothes. The first picture shows peasant men in their costumes: stockings, tunics, hoods, poulaines... Now we will show you real medieval robes that peasant men used. These are now shown in a museum: And we also have a peasant woman's robe:

The following show wealthy women in their long gowns with more elborate headdresses. You can also see knights with their fighting clothes.
These were "poulaines", medieval shoes:

  1. In the M.A. peasants' shoes were called poulaines, and they were made of leather. However, naowadays we have many different shoes, like trainers and elegant shoes.

    In the middle ages poulaines were in fashion althought, nowadays we use shoes.

  3. whereas in the middle ages they always put the same clothes on, nowadays we have variated clothes to put on.

    In the victorian period women´s clothes were very uncomfortable because of the hoop-petticoat, petticoat and the corset. However, nowadays clothes are very comfortables and the skirts have not petticoat.
